Man arrested for blackmailing Karan Patel & Rithvik Dhanjani

Last week, there was a complaint filed against TV actors and Nach Baliye 7 hosts Rithvik Dhanjani and Karan Patel. The complaint was filed against them for passing objectionable comments on national heroes and the Constitution during the shooting of the celebrity dance show.
In a filmy twist, it has now emerged that the man, who shot a video of the actors while they were mimicking some political leaders, has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing the duo. The person had recorded the video, filed a case at Arey Colony police station, and then started blackmailing the actors.
"Cops from the Aarey sub police station have arrested a youth, who was trying to extort Rs 20 lakh from the two actors. He had shot a video of them insulting freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, and was threatening to circulate the clip if his demands were not met. Rithvik and Karan sought help of the city police and a trap was laid for the youth's arrest," Mid-Day quoted its source.
The crime branch sleuths laid a trap at Oshiwara bus depot and arrested the man, identified as Amit Barik, while taking Rs 15 lakh.
